Stainless Steel Welder (FCAW / CWB) – Short-Term Rush Project
Location: Fort Saskatchewan, ABProject Timeline: Starting Mid-August (14–16 days straight)
Placements Confirmed By: August 10th/11th
Shift Structure: 12-Hour Shifts Day or Night Crew split
Base Compensation:
- Journeyman: $40.00/hour
- 3rd Year Apprentice: $36.00/hour (90% of Jman)
- 2nd Year Apprentice: $30.00/hour (75% of Jman)
**Shift Premium: +$3.00/hour for all hours worked on the Night Shift We are looking for 6 skilled Welder Apprentices (2nd/3rd Year) and Journeymen to join a rapid-response, high-priority fabrication project in Fort Saskatchewan starting in mid-August. This is an intensive, short-term rush contract consisting of 12-hour shifts running for 14 to 16 days straight. The crew will be split evenly between day and night shifts. While this is primarily a project-based role with a scheduled layoff upon completion, exceptional candidates who prove their skill and reliability will be strongly considered for upcoming long-term career opportunities within our team. Perform high-quality structural and component welding in a demanding shop environment. Utilize Stainless Steel FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) processes to strict project standards. Work efficiently across flat and horizontal positions as required by production specs. Maintain strict adherence to weld procedures, material tracking, and quality controls. Work collaboratively within a split-crew dynamic (3 on days / 3 on nights) to keep production moving safely around the clock. Actively comply with all facility safety guidelines, hazard assessments, and clean-worksite rules. Qualifications
CWB Ticket: Valid Stainless Steel FCAW CWB Ticket (flat and horizontal minimum is mandatory).
- Please note that the client will consider candidates with a Carbon Steel CWB FCAW ticket and stainless-steel experience. Experience Level: Open to 2nd Year, 3rd Year, or Journeyman Welder status (preference leaning towards 3rd Year and Jman). Availability: Must be able to commit to the entire 14–16 day duration, working 12-hour shifts straight through. Local to Fort Saskatchewan or surrounding areas with reliable daily transportation (no camp or LOA provided). Strong work ethic, attention to detail under tight deadlines, and an excellent safety track record. Summary
