Senior Financial Analyst - Extendicare (Markham) (Winnipeg)

Job Overview

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for processing and analyzing financial data, driving financial performance and ensuring compliance with government funding regulations. Location: Head Office, Markham, Ontario. The position offers a hybrid working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute on period‑end close activities such as accruals, deferrals, and prepaids.
• Perform variance analysis to budget, forecast, and prior year and prepare period‑end reports.
• Complete balance reconciliations and provide commentary on balance sheet variances.
• Business partner with Operations to drive costs down and maximize funding opportunities.
• Ensure timely submission of required government and regulatory reporting.
• Identify and, with manager support, work toward improvement initiatives in accounting and financial reporting.
• Support the annual budget process.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting.
• 3‑5 years experience in operations finance and/or a related accounting role.
• CPA certification.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent organizational, computer, and analytical skills; advanced working knowledge of Excel.
• Accounting experience with large‑scale Enterprise Reporting systems; knowledge of Workday preferred.
