Director, Project Management

Location: Toronto, Ontario (Midtown)

Compensation: $140,000 – $200,000 + Benefits

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Director of Project Management will provide strategic and operational leadership for a growing portfolio of major electrical infrastructure and electrification projects valued at approximately $500 million.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of a large-scale portfolio of electrical infrastructure, electrification, energy, and utility-related projects.
• Provide executive oversight for project planning, cost management, scheduling, forecasting, risk management, change management, and project controls.
• Build and lead a high‑performing team of Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Schedulers, Cost Controllers, and Project Controls professionals.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual and quality requirements.
• Establish portfolio‑level reporting, governance, forecasting, and performance management processes.
• Drive project execution strategies from front‑end planning through construction, commissioning, and turnover.
• Maintain strong relationships with utilities, customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
• Provide leadership in contract administration, commercial negotiations, claims avoidance, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Executive Leadership on strategic growth initiatives, pursuits, and client development opportunities.
• Champion a culture of safety, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Support organizational growth by developing future leaders and strengthening project management capabilities across the business.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience managing major electrical infrastructure, utility, energy, industrial, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing large project portfolios exceeding $100M in annual project value.
• Strong experience delivering complex projects involving substations, transmission and distribution systems, utility infrastructure, battery energy storage systems, generation facilities, electrification programs, EV charging infrastructure, or related electrical construction projects.
• Proven track record leading large project delivery teams and project controls functions.
• Strong understanding of project controls, earned value management, cost forecasting, scheduling, change management, and risk management methodologies.
• Experience managing EPC, EPCM, design‑build, and construction contracts.
• Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success delivering profitable projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Qualified Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
• MBA and/or PMP certification.
• Experience leading utility, energy transition, electrification, or large‑scale infrastructure programs within Ontario.
• Experience managing unionized construction environments and self‑perform construction operations.
