Structural Engineer P.Eng

Calgary Structural Engineers ( also known as SMP-Services Cor[p. ) is looking for an Intermediate or Senior Structural Engineer (P.Eng) with 4-15 years of experience. The applicant must live in the Calgary area with Bachler of Science in Civil Engineering from a Canadian University.

Calgary Structural Engineers is a small engineering firm that focuses on life style and professionalism. We service small civil and structural projects nation wide from our down town Calgary office. We are looking for a self-motivated P.Eng who is certified in Alberta, and can be certified throughout Canada. The engineer will require 4 years of experience with a P.Eng designation and be able to work independently on small projects.

The candidate will be working from their home office and must be willing and available to work 8am-5pm Monday - Friday. They require a valid drivers license and a vehicle to use for work.

The total scope of the role shall be, but is not limited to, the following duties as a professional engineer:

• On-site inspections in and around the City of Calgary
• Wood, Concrete and Steel detailed design work for residential and small industrial projects
• Screw Pile installation verification and conformation review (training provided)
• Framing and timber frame design
• Review and checking drawing package for structural and building code checks
• Retaining wall design work
• Miscellaneous Civil and Structural design work

Qualification:

• P.Eng active member : AB and willing to obtain P.Eng status in all or most provinces in Canada
• Living in the Calgary area
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills required
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a Canadian university.
