Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner

Provide emergency care as a Nurse Practitioner at Dawson Creek and District Hospital, using critical assessment and collaborative practice. Flexible scheduling supports this team-based setting.

Northern Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner for its Emergency Department team in Dawson Creek. The position serves patients of all ages and manages CTAS 1–5 presentations. You will work with physicians and emergency nurses, using PowerChart or paper documentation, virtual services, and evidence-informed practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and manage CTAS 1–5 patients
• Collaborate with physicians and emergency department nurses
• Provide emergency care to patients of all ages
• Use PowerChart or paper-based documentation systems
• Engage virtual services supporting emergency care delivery

Requirements:

• Complete a BCCNM-approved master’s nurse practitioner program
• Be eligible for BCCNM Nurse Practitioner registration
• Communicate health findings, diagnoses, treatment, and prognosis
• Consult and refer patients to appropriate health professionals
• Lead teams and adapt within complex situations
