About Our Opportunity

 

This role works to ensure a return on investment based on effective and consistent use of our HRIS/IM infrastructure. Working closely with associated service providers, front line PSC staff, and others, the HR Business Systems Consultant develops, maintains, tests, and supports existing system functionality while identifying and implementing improvements for our HR systems.

 

This position acts as a PSC lead for projects such as the implementation of semi-annual and annual support upgrades, while working with departmental partners to enhance systems to better improve business processes and outcomes.  You will provide critical analysis, consultation, advice, guidance, and implementation oversight supporting corporate human resources systems and projects.   

This position would be a great fit for those who could embrace a variety of tasks at varying levels of responsibilities in the caretaking and improvement of our complex HR business systems, using the full development cycle, including:  

• Identifying, analyzing, and understanding client needs
• Formalizing needs and assessing options and solutions
• Translating needs into user stories
• Identifying risks and opportunities, as well as action and mitigation plans
• Planning and coordinating work - such as system testing
• Working with service partners to implement and test solutions through the development lifecycle
• Training end users and providing necessary support
• Administering systems and facilitating end user access to systems

Primary Accountabilities

 

• Solution Analysis, Assessment, Development, and Validation – identifies opportunities to develop and improve HR business processes, systems design, and enhancements
• Administers HR Systems and Solutions – as global administrator for cloud-based full cycle systems such as SuccessFactors
• Enterprise Analysis and Quality Assurance – leads, evaluates, plans, and tests critical HR system support packs, releases, and enhancements
• Business Analysis Planning & Monitoring – takes a leadership role in defining solutions to assist strategic HR related business process improvement initiatives
• Determines, sets guidelines, and documents business standards in the use of HR systems such as SAP and SuccessFactors
• Liaises with system support providers, IT, and other departmental teams
• System Security Provisioning – reviews and approves security requests to create, add, change, or delete security roles and structural authorization
• Change, Training & Communication – provides advice, guidance, and recommendations about the proper use of HR systems to the SAP HR end user community

Qualifications and Experience

 

Post-secondary education in business, human resources, computer science, or information management, along with several years of related work experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may also be considered.

 

Mastery of HR information systems and 3 or more years’ experience as an HR system “super user”, functional analyst/consultant, business analyst, or global administrator for SAP Human Capital Management (HCM) module(s), SuccessFactors module(s), Employee and Manager Self-Service portals, and/or scheduling solutions. (Note: Applicant should state in their cover letter what modules their experience specifically pertains to, and clearly outline project implementation and/or business operational support experience).

 

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external partners.  
• Proficiency with computer skills including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to work on multiple simultaneous assignments
• Experience with 4 or more of the following activities: training delivery, training development, support documentation, functional specification writing, security role definition, systems testing, systems administration, reporting, business analysis, data analysis, knowledge management, project management, or change management (Note: Applicant should clearly state in their cover letter what activities they have experience with)

 

Assets:

• Participation experience as a project team member in the integration of systems
• HTML coding
• Experience with relational databases and process flow charting
• Experience with SAP HR configuration or SuccessFactors configuration or certification/accreditation 
• Familiarity with ITIL methodology, Lean, Agile, Design Thinking, content management systems, working with third party service providers.
• Related industry certification such as CHPR, Project Management, Lean

Pay Grade:EC 10 

Salary Range:$3,247.28 - $4,059.12 Bi-Weekly
