Welding Sales Technician

We are seeking an experienced Welding Sales Technician to support commercial customers with welding equipment, accessories, and process-related solutions.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for a technically knowledgeable welding professional who is also comfortable in a customer-facing sales role. The successful candidate will speak with customers about their welding needs, identify opportunities for improvement, recommend suitable equipment and materials, and provide practical product support.

The ideal candidate can communicate confidently with a range of customers, explaining welding processes in both clear, everyday language and technical terms depending on the customer’s level of experience and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct sales calls and customer site visits to identify welding-related needs and business opportunities.
  • Meet with existing and prospective customers to discuss welding equipment, accessories, materials, and processes.
  • Assess customer welding requirements and recommend appropriate equipment and solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance relating to TIG, MIG, and stick welding processes.
  • Recommend suitable filler materials, welding equipment, and accessories based on the application.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer welding processes, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Set up welding machine packages and demonstrate proper equipment use.
  • Provide basic product training and support, particularly for new customers.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through responsive service and technical expertise.
  • Support sales growth by combining practical welding knowledge with customer-focused recommendations.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of welding experience .
  • Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience .
  • Strong knowledge of TIG, MIG, and stick welding processes.
  • Ability to set up and demonstrate different types of welding machine packages.
  • Experience recommending welding equipment, accessories, and filler materials for specific applications.
  • Ability to assess customer welding needs and recommend process improvements.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to different types of customers.
  • Confident customer service, relationship-building, and sales skills.
  • Comfortable conducting sales calls and visiting customer or prospect sites.
  • Valid driver’s licence is required.

Preferred Assets

  • Experience selling welding equipment, industrial supplies, or related technical products.
  • Background working directly with commercial or industrial customers.
  • Experience providing customer training or equipment demonstrations.
