About the Role

You'll be working closely with our development team, while having ample opportunity to provide input on product and feature development. You will have the freedom to explore new technologies and also show your knowledge of concepts - at Doctalk you will gain a wealth of experience.

General & Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Write practical & clean code in new & existing features
• Research and apply novel solutions to problems with multiple people with diverse skills
• Quickly learn new relevant state of the art libraries, technologies & architectures

Qualifications:

• Web Development fundamentals; HTML/JS/CSS, REST APIs, WebSockets, SQL, git
• TypeScript Proficiency
• Familiarity with techstack; NextJS, Supabase
• Enthusiastic about working in a small ambitious team, improving Canadian healthcare
• A passion for creating exceptional user experiences
• Written & Verbal Communication skills
• Detail oriented and eager to own your code by testing it
• Growth mindset, confident and reliable with a positive attitude
• Experience with agile SDLC & CICD
• Understanding of web architectures; serverless, microservices, event driven architecture

Accomplishments of Past Co-ops:

• Implementing video call features into our application
• Restructuring the landing page for our website
• Constructing messaging features for our application
• Navigation bar and profile search feature
• Implementing creative team's feedback into component libraries
• Real time messaging system
• Develop reusable UI library
• Database migration scripting
• Websocket (pub-sub) based user site-location tracking system

This position is made possible by SWPP funding, requiring our co-op students to meet the following requirements:

• Be registered at a Canadian post-secondary education institution.
• Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act 2. International students, i.e. persons using a Student VISA or work permit, are not eligible for the funding.
• Be legally able to work in Canada according to the laws and regulations of the province or territory where you live
