Legal Assistant / Law Clerk (PPSA / UCC)

Be part of a dynamic initiative in the insurance industry for our client that combines document review, collateral filing analysis, and data management responsibilities while supporting the successful execution of a high-priority project.

What is in it for you:

• Hourly salary of $27-28, based on experience.

• 3-month contract.

• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.

• Hybrid work, with 3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities:

• Review legal, loan, financing, and deal documentation.

• Identify, analyze, research, and validate secured collateral filings in Canada under the PPSA and in the United States under the UCC.

• Extract, organize, and track filing information in Microsoft Excel.

• Maintain tracking logs and reporting records.

• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of extracted data.

• Work independently while maintaining close attention to detail.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders as required.

What you will need to succeed:

Required qualifications

• Previous experience working in a law firm, legal department, or similar legal environment.

• Experience reviewing legal, loan, or financing documentation.

• Strong knowledge of PPSA filings in Canada and/or UCC filings in the United States.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred qualifications

• Paralegal diploma, certification, or related legal education.

• Experience supporting secured lending, commercial lending, or collateral documentation processes.

• Exposure to both Canadian and United States collateral filing requirements.
