Occupational Training Coach

Job Responsibility:

The Employment Division of Key Industries is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team and fill the role of Occupational Training Coach in the Southeast region of New Brunswick! In this position, the successful applicant will be responsible for designing and implementing experiential learning tasks in simulated work environments. This role requires the successful candidate to have a strong understanding of the local labour market, adult learning theory, and strong communication skills. The Occupational Training Coach will conduct and document initial occupational performance assessments as well as periodic follow-up observational assessments and report findings to management. This role is also an important point of contact for job development initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to lead a new and exciting project with an established organization that is creating innovative solutions to increase and support labour market participation for persons with disabilities.

Position Responsibilities:

• Create and implement experiential learning tasks to provide occupational training in simulated work environments
• Conduct effective intake assessments and progressive performance evaluations
• Coordinate necessary accommodations for participants
• Use s and progress monitoring as a guide for initial and ongoing occupational assessment tools
• Provide a person-centered and holistic approach to training and career development goals with participants
• Collaborate with community partners to provide quality services to their clients, continually adapting and enhancing training plans
• Regularly monitor and report client progress to program management
• Support job development initiatives
• Connect with employment support facilitators and community partners to maximize training and skills enhancement supports (strengthen partnerships?)
• Coordinate meetings with Employment Assistance Service providers and their clients in the Southeast region of New Brunswick

Qualifications and Skills:

• A bachelor's degree in education, Social Sciences, or a related field is preferred Working knowledge of occupational therapy is an asset
• Experience or knowledge in Occupational Health & Safety Standards preferred
• Experience or knowledge in training or facilitating adult learners is preferred
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage schedules independently
• Adaptability & flexible thinking
• Understanding of MS Office Suite and ability to write reports are required
• Excellent oral and written communication
• A strong sense of discretion and confidentiality is required
• This role requires a valid Driver's License and the regular use of your own reliable vehicle
• A Criminal Background Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Driver's Abstract required

This is a hybrid role. The individual will work remotely when preparing for client sessions and will travel to various community partner organizations for regular meetings with staff and job seekers accessing the job simulation services.
