Product Support Representative - Engines & Transmission

The Opportunity

• Accountable and responsible for growing revenue within a portfolio of strategic industry accounts while driving the acquisition of new large accounts ($60K - $500K+ annual revenue).
• Lead the sales strategy and account development plan, including target account identification, prospecting, opportunity management, sales lead follow-up, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Retain and grow business relationships with key accounts by proactively identifying opportunities and presenting innovative solutions related to engines, transmissions, power generation systems, and associated support services.
• Develop and execute territory plans to increase market share and expand customer penetration across industrial, construction, oil and gas, transportation, power generation, and related sectors.

The Role

• Source and prospect new clients continuously; conduct sales calls, including cold calls, customer visits, lead follow-up, and referral follow-up to present equipment, parts, service, and power generation solutions.
• Identify and build relationships with decision-makers, including operations managers, maintenance managers, fleet managers, plant managers, procurement teams, and executive leadership within existing and prospective accounts.
• Create and execute ongoing account strategies that position the organization as a trusted advisor for engine, transmission, and power generation solutions.
• Review and provide input on target client opportunities while ensuring alignment with overall account growth strategies and business objectives.
• Forecast, manage, and adjust account plans to ensure success against contractual commitments and revenue targets.
• Coordinate with product specialists, service teams, and technical experts to identify and capitalize on expansion, lifecycle support, and cross-selling opportunities.
• Conduct follow-up with customers regarding quotations, orders, service requirements, and project opportunities.
• Gather and analyze competitor information, including product offerings, applications, pricing, and market activity to effectively position solutions and overcome customer objections.
• Develop professional proposals, quotations, and presentations based on customer requirements, technical specifications, and application needs.
• Maintain complete compliance with established sales processes and CRM systems, including Salesforce, ensuring accurate opportunity management, forecasting, and reporting.
• Collaborate with operations, service, rentals, parts, and product support teams to ensure exceptional customer experience and long-term account retention.

The Candidate

Education

• Bachelor's Degree, College Diploma, Technical Diploma, or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.

Work Experience

• Minimum 4 years of proven success in business development, account management, or technical sales.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and managing strategic customer relationships.
• Experience within heavy equipment, industrial equipment, diesel engines, transmissions, power generation, electrical power systems, mining, construction, transportation, oil and gas, or related industries is preferred.

Knowledge

• Strong understanding of diesel and natural gas engines, transmissions, generators, power generation systems, and related industrial applications.
• Knowledge of equipment lifecycle management, maintenance programs, aftermarket support, and service sales.
• Ability to understand technical customer requirements and translate them into value-driven business solutions.
• Leadership-level industry knowledge and understanding of key market sectors is considered a strong asset.
