Registered Nurse - Continuing Complex Care & Dialysis

Position Summary

A registered nurse will provide comprehensive care for patients in the South 3 36‑bed general medicine & hemodialysis complex continuing care unit at the E.W. Bickle Centre, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support individuals with chronic and complex health issues or traumatic injuries.

Duties

• Plan, manage, evaluate and coordinate professional nursing care for patients and families within an interdisciplinary context.
• Use evidence‑based knowledge and input from team members to plan and implement care for Complex Continuing Care patients and families.
• Educate patients, families, referring facilities and community providers regarding dementia care.
• Participate in inter‑professional team care planning forums, inter‑professional rounds and family conferences.
• Provide leadership, supervision and mentorship to students and new staff on the unit related to Complex Continuing Care.
• Participate in professional, program and hospital‑wide initiatives, including professional development of self.
• Adhere to patient‑safety responsibilities and associated hospital plans, policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently within an interdisciplinary patient‑care team.
• Capacity to meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• BScN degree preferred.

Salary and Hours: $41.15 – $58.98 per hour (start rate fixed), 0.30 FTE, permanent part‑time, days/nights shifts.
