Sr. Engineer, Mine

The Role
As part of the Cigar Lake team, you will contribute your mine engineering expertise with a strong focus on underground ventilation system design, optimization, and performance monitoring to support safe and efficient mining of a challenging orebody. This role is critical in ensuring that ventilation systems are effectively designed, implemented, and maintained to meet regulatory and operational requirements.

In this role, you will:
-Maintain a focus on safe conditions, leading ventilation design, planning, and optimization for underground development and production areas.
-Own and maintain the ventilation model, ensuring it reflects current and planned mine conditions.
-Review and analyze ventilation performance data and implement corrective actions as required, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and site procedures related to ventilation, monitoring, and system audits.
-Lead ventilation-related risk assessments and support incident response (e.g. ventilation failures, re-entry planning).
-Support the overall mine engineering function by ensuring alignment between mine ventilation design and operational conditions, while maintaining consideration for short- and long-term mine plans.
-Contribute to ground control strategies and integration with development sequencing.
-Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and technical services departments to resolve complex underground challenges.

Required:
-Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline (mine, geological, geotechnical, mechanical, or similar), with significant experience in underground mine ventilation design and operation;
-seven to 12 years of progressive underground mining experience, with significant experience in mine ventilation design and operation;
