Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Title- Heavy Equipment Operator
Pay Rate: $27-$35/ hour
Location: Windsor, ON
Â
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
Must be able to operate Cranes, excavators, forklifts, bulldozers, dump trucks, backhoes, graders and front-end loaders.Â
⢠Loading and unloading equipment from vehicles used to transport itÂ
⢠Inspecting equipment before and after use to ensure itâs in good working orderÂ
⢠Driving or controlling heavy equipment to complete tasks at the construction siteÂ
⢠Monitoring performance and adjusting settings as required to perform tasks correctlyÂ
⢠Tracking scheduled maintenance of equipment and notifying their supervisor if maintenance is past dueÂ
⢠Filling out performance records to report problems with equipment and track where and when it was usedÂ
⢠Cleaning equipment after use and disposing of any collected scraps or wasteÂ
⢠Completing minor repair work as neededÂ

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSÂ
⢠Knowledge of safety protocols and the procedures used to control heavy equipmentÂ
⢠Coordination to use all the controls on pieces of equipmentÂ
⢠Possessing enough strength to operate the controls on heavy equipmentÂ
⢠Ability to remain stationary in the seat or operating area of the equipment for prolonged periodsÂ
⢠Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues with equipmentÂ
⢠Strong oral communication skills to interact with other workers on the jobsiteÂ
⢠Basic writing skills to accurately complete reports and other paperworkÂ
⢠Good noncommercial driverâs license history to indicate a habit of safe drivingÂ
