Join Thunder Bay Fire Rescue as Deputy Fire Chief and enhance fire service operations. This full-time role offers the chance to mentor teams and improve community safety.
This key leadership position involves managing operations, participating in strategic initiatives, and ensuring operational readiness. Your extensive experience in fire services administration and training will be crucial in supporting effective emergency management and community outreach. Expect to engage with community leaders and prepare detailed reports.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead personnel management and evaluate emergency responses
• Participate in developing TBFR’s operational policies
• Supervise the maintenance of fire fighting apparatus
• Provide Incident Command during crisis situations
• Prepare and present reports to Council and committees
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in fire service administration
• Five years of experience in senior firefighting roles
• Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC) certification required
• Knowledge of fire safety and prevention standards
• Familiarity with firefighting training and protocols
