Daycare Nutritionist

As the Nutritionist, you are responsible for preparing nutritious morning and afternoon snacks and lunch for 40 children aged 18 months to 6 years at the Whitmore Park Child Care Cooperative centre.

Skills
- Effective communication, written and verbal, and listening skills with children, parents and co-workers.
- Ability to work independently with large groups of children.
- Have a positive attitude towards work and take initiative to complete tasks.
- Ability to work in partnership with colleagues and other professionals to support children and their families.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and/or emergency situations.
- Ability to effectively resolve conflict as per centre policy.
- Ability to follow food safe requirements.

Knowledge & Experience
- Have a solid understanding of child care related legislation and related requirements.
- Have a solid understanding of food safe requirements.
- Have a solid understanding of the Ministry of Education Nutritional requirements for childcare centres.
- 1 + years previous experience in a related capacity.
- Familiar with Play and Exploration, Early Learning Program Guide.
- Familiar with Occupational Standards for Child Care Practitioners.
- Know and adhere to all policies and procedures set out in the staff handbook and Licensee Manual.

Education & Certifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C
- Food Safety
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
