Live-out Senior care - looking for a PSW for 7 days/week care

Are you compassionate, dedicated, and ready to make a difference in someone’s life? We are seeking a reliable and caring Live-Out Personal Support Worker (PSW) to assist with the daily care of a senior who has had a stroke and uses a wheelchair (cannot walk). We are looking for someone who can provide care for all seven days per week. She is able to communicate and eat on her own, but she requires assistance from one person for all transfers to and from her wheelchair, toilet, shower, and bed. She can move independently in her wheelchair for short distances. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care. Position: Live-Out Personal Support Worker Location: Toronto (Bloor and Bathurst) Start Date: November 3, 2026 (negotiable) This position requires split shifts seven days a week, with three mandatory shifts per day. For example: a two-hour morning shift for bathing, toileting, and getting ready for the day; a three-hour afternoon shift for toileting, exercises, and outings; and a one-hour late-evening shift for bedtime care. This generally works out to an average of six hours per day, for a total of 42 hours per week. If desired, we can help find extra work in the neighbourhood between shifts. We can also accommodate personal commitments, such as church visits, etc. Key Responsibilities:

• Personal Care: Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Mobility Assistance: Help with transfers and ensure safety during movement.
• Meal Preparation: Prepare breakfast and lunch.
• Companionship: Provide emotional support, engage in stimulating activities, and promote mental and emotional well-being. Take the client out for visits and appointments.
• Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and comfortable living space for the client, including her bedroom, personal washroom, and eating area. Wash her dishes.
• Laundry: Wash, dry, and put away her clothes and linens.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Prior experience in senior care, particularly with stroke patients, is preferred.
• Training: PSW or equivalent training is preferred. CPR/First Aid training and a vulnerable sector police background check are mandatory.
• Skills: Patience, empathy, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Availability: Must be available to work three shifts per day, seven days a week. What We Offer:
