Position: Out of Scope Shop Foreman based out of the Moose Jaw Transportation Shop Date Posted: June 4, 2025 Closing Date: Suitable Pool Location: Moose Jaw Position Type: Permanent Start Date: August 5, 2025 FTE: 1.0 Hours of Work: 8 hours per day

Job Summary: The Shop Foreman, in addition to performing regular mechanical duties, oversees, provides supervision and support to the Transportation technicians and Bus Drivers in the assigned area. They plan, schedule and assign maintenance work/activities of the Transportation Shop, through efficient task coordination, transportation management techniques & evaluation.

Education & Qualifications:

• A valid journeyperson certificate in motor mechanics.
• A minimum of Grade 12 diploma from a recognized educational institution as approved by the Board of Education of General Educational Development (GED)
• A vehicle safety inspection certificate
• A valid Class 1-5 driver's license
• A minimum of two (2) years experience in school bus or heavy equipment repair
• A minimum of two (2) years experience with gas, propane, and diesel engines
• One (1) year supervisory experience and/or training
• Must have own tools
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently in a time sensitive environment
• Must be very safety conscious
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Physical Requirements: The ability to do heavy work is required (i.e., exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects). Employees must be physically fit and able to handle various tasks involving lifting, bending, twisting, turning, and climbing. Wage & Benefits: Prairie South School Division offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Currently this is a range of $36.31 - $40.19 per hour.
