As Financial Controller for Labour Management, you’ll work across facilities and divisions, partnering closely with clinical and operational leaders to understand labour demand, control cost and improve productivity. You’ll bring clarity to complex data, influence decision‑making at senior level and help shape how we plan and deploy our workforce across HCA Healthcare UK.

This is a highly visible role with real breadth. You’ll balance hands‑on analysis with strategic thinking, combining financial rigour with a deep understanding of rostering, temporary staffing and workforce systems. What You’ll Do

You’ll take ownership of labour control and productivity reporting, ensuring month‑end labour processes are accurate, timely and robust, while producing clear weekly insights for executive review. You’ll work closely with facility leadership and department managers to identify productivity opportunities, recommend solutions and support delivery against agreed targets.

You’ll lead the integrity and development of labour management data across our core systems, including Labour Power BI, Facility Scheduler, Workday and Flexible Position Control, ensuring leaders have confidence in the data they rely on. Alongside this, you’ll oversee staffing grids, skill codes and shift structures, supporting consistent and effective rostering across services.

You’ll play a key role in reducing reliance on temporary staffing by analysing trends in agency, bank and overtime spend, supporting strategic recruitment and retention initiatives, and advising on workforce planning decisions. You’ll also support the set‑up and closure of departments and facilities within workforce systems, working closely with senior operational leaders.

You’ll act as a subject matter expert for labour management, sharing best practice across facilities, developing training materials for scheduling and productivity tools, and supporting projects led by Workforce Planning and the Director of Labour Management.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be a qualified accountant with strong experience in finance roles within fast‑paced environments, ideally with exposure to healthcare or complex service operations. You’ll bring a deep understanding of temporary staffing, labour cost control and productivity management, with hands‑on experience of workforce or rostering systems such as Facility Scheduler.

You’ll be confident working with data and analytics, with strong Power BI capability and solid Microsoft Office skills, including intermediate Excel. You’ll be comfortable translating detailed analysis into clear, practical insight for senior leaders and operational teams.

Just as importantly, you’ll be a clear communicator who builds trust quickly, exercises sound judgement and works well across disciplines. You’ll be proactive, organised and comfortable working on the go, including visiting sites and engaging directly with clinical and operational colleagues.
