Municipal Civil Engineer Canmore

Advance municipal infrastructure in Canmore as a Community Development Engineer using civil engineering expertise and development review skills. This is a permanent full-time position.The Town of Canmore seeks a Community Development Engineer for its Engineering Department. You will review development applications, coordinate infrastructure projects, and provide technical expertise across transportation, water, sanitary, and stormwater systems. The work supports safe, sustainable infrastructure aligned with municipal standards, policies, and guiding documents.Key Responsibilities:
Review development applications against municipal standards and engineering best practicesCoordinate developers, consultants, contractors, and Town departmentsMonitor project progress and address technical deviationsPresent technical information during public consultation and Council meetingsPrepare reports, drawings, recommendations, and project recordsRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related disciplineProfessional Engineer designation or eligibility within twelve monthsMinimum three years of professional engineering experienceKnowledge of municipal engineering standards and development processesStrong communication and stakeholder coordination skillsUse civil infrastructure, development review, and communication expertise to support sustainable community projects for the Town of Canmore.
