Job Description:

A Co-Op Student position is available in the Project Support team. The team includes project controls analysts (PCA), project accountant administrators (PAA), capital reporting analysts and project governance functions. The group is accountable for monitoring and controlling externally driven project financials from project development through to project execution and project completion. This Co-Op position will report to the Manager, Project Support DA, and work closely with the project managers, functional teams, and management to ensure project delivery deadlines and financial targets are met, and continuous improvement tasks support the department’s overall goals. They will support the team’s data management, reporting, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on improving data quality and developing practical digital solutions that increase efficiency, visibility, and consistency.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with data cleanup, validation, and standardization to improve the quality, consistency, and usability of business data.
• Support process improvement initiatives by documenting existing processes and identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, or automate routine activities.
• Help develop standardized tools, templates, trackers, and reporting processes to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Create, organize, and maintain SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, and related content to support team collaboration and information management.
• Prepare and maintain process documentation, user guides, and supporting materials for newly developed tools and processes.
• Support the development, ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of SharePoint, Power Platform, reporting, and data-management solutions.
• Support the development and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards to monitor, measure, and track key performance indicators and operational performance.
• Assist with other data analysis, reporting, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives as required.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• A university student enrolled in their second or third year at a recognized University program in business analytics, data analytics, or data science.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and Excel.
• Basic knowledge of, or demonstrated interest in learning, Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
• Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities.
• Ability to work in a team environment and develop strong internal and external relationships.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills - verbal and written. An emphasis will be placed on technical writing ability.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Superior analytical, risk assessment and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
• Proven track record of good attendance and job performance.
