In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description
As an Infection Prevention and Control Professional (ICP), you will be a patient safety expert who leads the planning, development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of system wide improvements in infection prevention and serves as a role model to promote the goals of the IPC program within the larger context of the vision and mission of AHS. You will facilitate change through interpretation and application of standards, and provide best practice recommendations across the spectrum of the organization with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes and preventing health-care associated infections (HAI).

Qualifications
- Required Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Epidemiology, or Public Health. Other clinical health-related baccalaureate or graduate degrees may be considered if curriculum content equivalency can be adequately demonstrated. Minimum of three years' experience in a clinical health care setting, or experience and proficiency in two of the following: 1) patient care practice; 2) microbiology and infectious diseases; or 3) epidemiology and biostatistics. Active or eligible registration with the applicable regulatory college i.e. College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA), College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA), etc.
- Additional Required Qualifications: Recent experience as an Infection Control Practitioner, or completion of an IPAC endorsed novice IPC course is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Infection Control CIC© from the Certification Board of Infection Control. Recent experience in; nursing, microbiology and infectious diseases, epidemiology and biostatistics, laboratory technology, or public health.
