Our Production Facility in Langbank has an opening for Weld Automation Engineer. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager, the successful engineer will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and improvement of production lines, managing contractors and ensuring that Health Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. Education/Experience - University degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree and registered or able to register with APEGS
- Membership of an Industry Related Professional body an asset
- Able to demonstrate experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

Requirements - Develop, design, and implement automated welding systems to enhance production efficiency and quality.
- Hands on experience on online & off-line programming using Roboto studio with specialization in ArcWelding PowerPack.
- CAD software experience is an asset.
- Create and document welding procedures and guidelines, ensuring they comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Design and build prototypes to test new welding techniques and automation systems.
- Configure and program welding robots and automated systems to meet specific production requirements.
- Integrate welding automation systems with existing manufacturing processes and machinery.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for welding automation equipment to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with welding automation systems, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Perform or oversee repairs on welding machinery and automation systems as needed.
- Continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and productivity of welding automation processes.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve overall production efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all welding automation systems, including schematics, user manuals, and maintenance records.
- Generate regular reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and production outcomes to inform management decisions.
- Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to production teams to ensure effective and safe use of welding automation equipment.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols for the operation and maintenance of welding automation systems.
- Ensure all welding automation activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Work closely with design engineers, production managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of welding automation systems.
Work Conditions Physical Efforts: - Majority of time spent, moving, gathering, assembling.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Some time spent in an office setting
