Quality Engineer 【6-Month Contract 】- Automotive Parts Manufacturer (36204)

I’m currently working with a manufacturing client in Orangeville, Ontario that is looking to bring on a

Quality Engineer

for an initial

6‑month contract.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a hands‑on quality environment and wants to gain more experience in the automotive industry.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities

Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements

Develop, review, and update quality documentation including control plans, work instructions, inspection standards, and procedures

Lead root cause analysis (RCA) activities using structured problem‑solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.) and drive effective corrective and preventive actions

Partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements on the shop floor

Analyze internal and external quality data (scrap, rework, customer complaints, PPM trends) to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Support new product introduction (NPI) and engineering changes by ensuring quality requirements are defined and met (APQP, PPAP as applicable)

Conduct process audits, layered audits, and support external/customer audits to ensure compliance with quality standards

Monitor and improve key quality KPIs and provide regular reporting to leadership

Support supplier quality activities including issue resolution and performance monitoring

Ensure proper implementation of measurement systems, including MSA studies and calibration control

Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with GD&T and customer requirements

Quality Engineer Requirements

1–2 years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment (Internship and Co‑op also counts)

Experience with quality systems, process development, and policy implementation

Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail

Ability to communicate effectively across technical and business teams

CQE designation is considered an asset

Knowledge of Control Plans and FMEA

Knowledge of GD&T, MSA, and calibration

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with 2D/3D CAD drawings
