Principal Engineer - InsurTech Claims at Intact

Join Intact as a Principal Engineer to lead technical innovations in InsurTech Claims and Billing Core Systems. This senior role encompasses hands-on leadership and architectural design for complex problems. In this individual contributor position, you will provide technical guidance across engineering practices and solutions. Your focus includes prototyping, code reviews, and resolving high-severity issues, advancing the technology strategy for claims and billing. You will collaborate closely with architects and technical leaders to enhance architectural standards and technical roadmaps. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership through hands-on prototyping and complex issue resolution
- Lead high-severity incident resolution for performance and security
- Define technical standards and architecture for core systems
- Design scalable and cost-effective solutions collaboratively
- Implement AI solutions to boost engineering productivity
- Senior-level experience in software engineering or architecture
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms, APIs, and microservices
- Hands-on experience with Java and Node.js
- Proven ability to mentor and influence teams
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
