The District of Kent, located in the picturesque Eastern Fraser Valley, is offering several exciting opportunities in our Recreation, Culture & Projects Department.

With the upcoming Grand Opening (September 2026) of the Lets'emó:t Regional Recreation and Aquatic Centre (LRRAC), we are looking to assemble a dynamic team to deliver exceptional services to our region. This amazing new facility expands our existing recreation centre and features an 8-lane pool, lazy river, steam room, sauna, and hot tub.

We are seeking several positive, energetic, self-motivated, and team-oriented Casual Lifeguard / Instructors  to join us.

Reporting to the Aquatic Coordinator, you will be responsible for working with other aquatic team members according to the policies, procedures and practices set out for the Lets'emó:t Regional Recreation and Aquatic Centre (LRRAC). This includes, but not limited to, accident prevention and response; aquatic safety promotion; swim lesson instruction and administration; facility maintenance; general office administration; customer service; and shift supervision.

Required qualifications:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of aquatic related experience.
  • Current National Lifeguard (NL) - Pool Option.
  • Standard First Aid Certificate (or equivalent).
  • CPR Level (C) Award.
  • Lifesaving Swim Instructor Certificate.
  • Lifesaving Society Instructor Certificate (Preferred).
  • Pool Operator - Level 1 (preferred).


Pay and benefits for this bargaining unit position will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement, CUPE Local 458. The 2025 post-probationary wage rate for this position is $28.67/hour. The rate of pay for this casual position will include an additional 14% of gross wage earnings in lieu of benefits plan entitlements, statutory holiday pay, sick leave, etc.
