About the Role
Our client, a leading name in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking E-commerce Manager to lead their online sales strategy. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa while driving significant growth in the digital retail space. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive e-commerce strategies, optimizing online product listings, managing digital marketing campaigns, and ensuring a seamless customer experience across various online platforms. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of e-commerce best practices, digital marketing, and the FMCG consumer. This role is crucial for expanding our client's reach and sales through online channels. As a remote-first role, excellent communication and self-management skills are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a robust e-commerce strategy to drive online sales and market share for FMCG products.
- Manage and optimize the company's online storefronts, ensuring accurate product information, compelling content, and effective user experience.
- Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns (SEM, SEO, social media, email marketing) to drive traffic and conversions.
- Analyze e-commerce data, including sales trends, website traffic, and customer behavior, to identify areas for improvement.
- Manage relationships with third-party e-commerce platforms and online retailers.
- Oversee inventory management and fulfillment processes for online orders.
- Monitor competitor activities and industry trends in the e-commerce and FMCG space.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment of online strategies with overall business objectives.
- Stay updated on the latest e-commerce technologies and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, E-commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in e-commerce management, with a strong focus on driving online sales.
- Proven track record of success in managing and growing online retail businesses, preferably in the FMCG industry .
- Expertise in digital marketing channels (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing) and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento) and marketplace dynamics.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Based in or able to effectively manage operations related to East London, Eastern Cape, ZA , while working remotely.
