What you'll be doing

We are seeking a self-motivated Electrical Engineer (Manufacturing). Reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for:

• Developing robust hardware and software solutions to be used in the manufacture and testing of Innovasea products
• Improving test coverage, automation, and quality of processes used to produce products
• Collaborating with production operators to identify areas of improvement for production tooling and systems
• Supporting the process of new product introductions through design-for-manufacturing analysis
• Spearheading continuous improvement projects for existing production lines and processes
• Enhancing and maintaining existing production systems to current development standards
• Quickly diagnosing and resolving manufacturing challenges as they relate to production equipment and software
• Creating and updating design documentation as it pertains to production tooling
• Continuous learning of relevant technologies

What you'll need to succeed

• Candidates are required to have a bachelor's degree in electrical / computer engineering or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of hardware design principles
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles
• Familiarity using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, etc.
• Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
• Experience developing .NET applications using Visual Studio
• Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities and constraints
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience designing software to interface test and automation equipment
• Experience developing embedded software systems
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and how to apply it in real situations
• Experience using git version control and Atlassian JIRA/Confluence
• Eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia as E.I.T. or P.Eng.
