Job Description
In this key role, you will provide exceptional customer service while overseeing security operations within a busy retail environment. Working in the Control Centre, you will support site operations through dispatch services, CCTV monitoring, incident management, emergency response coordination, and access control functions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Dispatch security personnel as required
- Liaise with site management, emergency services, police, fire, ambulance personnel, tenants, and staff
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems and report suspicious activity
- Maintain compliance with property rules, regulations, and operating procedures
- Respond to emergencies and critical incidents in a professional and efficient manner
- Provide First Aid, CPR, and AED assistance until medical personnel arrive
- Maintain and enforce access control procedures
- Monitor and follow emergency and standard operating procedures
- Address trespassing and unauthorized access concerns in accordance with the Trespass to Property Act
- Assist with Fire & Life Safety inspections and emergency preparedness initiatives
- Maintain accurate memo book entries and prepare detailed incident and occurrence reports
- Investigate incidents and document findings professionally
- Conduct periodic patrols of the property by foot or vehicle as required
- Support daily operational requirements as directed by site management
- De-escalate crisis situations and assist emergency responders when required
- Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all tenants, visitors, and patrons
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional presence
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certification (WSIB-approved provider)
- Valid Class G Driver's Licence with a clean Driver's Abstract
- Minimum 1 year of security experience required
- 1–2 years of dispatching experience or related experience considered an asset
- Previous mall security or retail security experience considered an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Strong observational and report-writing skills
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8–12 hours)
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required
- Legally authorized to work in Canada

Certification Requirements (All)
Valid G Licence
First Aid and CPR - Level C Certification
Valid Security License
Minimum of 1 year security experience
