Overview

We are working with the Building Ontario Fund (BOF), a provincial Crown agency backed by $8 billion in seed funding, in search of a Senior Legal Counsel to join its growing Investment Legal team in Toronto. This is a unique prospect to join BOF at an exciting stage of growth and play a lead role on complex, high-profile infrastructure financing transactions across the energy, transportation, affordable housing, long‑term care, critical minerals, and municipal/community infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, the successful candidate will act as the in‑house legal lead on sophisticated debt/equity financing of infrastructure and real‑estate transactions, manage external counsel, negotiate complex bespoke agreements, and provide commercially‑minded advice to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience gained in a leading law firm or sophisticated in‑house workplace, ideally with exposure to project finance, infrastructure, banking and finance, debt/equity financing, or real‑estate finance matters. Prior infrastructure or public sector experience is an asset, but not required.
