The role offers strong development opportunities with increasing responsibility based on performance.What you will doInvestment ExecutionSupport due diligence on potential direct investment, co-investment and fund opportunitiesBuild and maintain dynamic and user-friendly financial models for valuation and return analysisPrepare and contribute to investment memos and committee materialsConduct industry, company, and market research to inform investment thesesAssist in evaluating deal structuring options, terms, and implicationsPortfolio ManagementMonitor financial and operational performance of portfolio companies and fund investmentsAssist with periodic valuations, performance attribution, and reporting on existing investmentsInvestigate and model financing alternatives or follow-on investment opportunitiesStrategic and Internal InitiativesContribute to research and analysis on investment themes, sectors, and structuresSupport internal strategic initiatives including process improvements and knowledge sharingEngage with internal stakeholders across legal, tax, and operations to support deal executionWhat You Bring2-4 years of experience in investment banking or private equityUniversity degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or a quantitative field with strong academic performanceDemonstrated strong skills in financial modeling, business analysis, and due diligenceProficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; knowledge of Capital IQ, Bloomberg, or other data tools is an assetDemonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance financial analysis, data synthesis, and productivity; experience with Capital IQ, Bloomberg, or other data and analytics platforms is considered an assetStrong communication and writing skills with the ability to synthesize complex ideas clearlyCurious mindset, strong attention to detail, and a proactive attitudeHigh integrity, professionalism, and team orientationNOTE: This is a full-time contract position (18 months)The expected annual base salary range for this role is: $98,000 - $148,000 CADThe actual base salary offered to the successful candidate may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual's expertise and level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered.This job is for an existing vacancy.HOOPP may use artificial intelligence tools to assist in screening, assessing and selecting applicants for this position.
