Senior Brain Injury Rehabilitation Worker – New Liskeard, ON
Full‑time position; 30 hours per week, Monday–Friday.
Starting wage: $27.01 per hour, including a $3.00 per hour Ontario government wage enhancement for direct client‑support hours (not applicable to training or paid leave).
Responsibilities
- Implement programs designed to enhance the efficiency and safe delivery of Community Support Services to clients with Brain Injury with the support of the RSC.
- Manage a case load of 9 clients with one office block per week.
- Collaborate with the RSC to complete all daily report writing, incident reports, Individual Rehabilitation Plans, and quarterly reporting.
- Manage a caseload with flexibility while responding to other duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure individual needs are met through functional goal setting.
- Act as a resource to staff and families in the provision of long‑term support and service coordination for complex or catastrophic cases to enable adults with Brain Injuries to remain in the community.
- Provide cognitive and compensatory strategies that support functional goal setting.
- Travel within the region on a daily basis.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in the social services/health sector, coordinating services for individuals with Brain Injury is an asset.
- 2 years of post‑secondary education.
- Concrete knowledge of the effects of an ABI is an asset; training will be provided.
- Community‑based experience working with individuals with a Brain Injury, physical disabilities, or special needs.
- Highly organized with excellent time‑management skills.
- Problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Knowledge of behaviour‑management principles.
- General understanding of computer hardware and software.
- Strong ability to assess and determine effective compensatory strategies for individuals with brain injuries.
- Valid licence and access to a car.
- Insurance liability of $1,000,000.00.
