NLP Engineer

APPIT Software Solutions is hiring a NLP Engineer in Toronto, Canada . Design and build natural language processing systems at APPIT Software in Toronto, creating intelligent text analytics, entity extraction, and language understanding solutions for global enterprise clients.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement NLP pipelines for text classification, NER, and sentiment analysis
• Build information extraction systems for structured data from unstructured documents
• Develop multilingual NLP solutions supporting global enterprise requirements
• Fine-tune transformer models for domain-specific language understanding tasks
• Create text preprocessing and normalization pipelines for diverse data sources
• Evaluate and benchmark NLP models using industry-standard metrics and datasets

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in NLP and computational linguistics
• Strong proficiency in Python with experience in spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers, and NLTK
• Experience with transformer-based NLP models (BERT, RoBERTa, T5, GPT variants)
• Knowledge of text classification, named entity recognition, and relation extraction
• Experience with text embedding models and semantic similarity techniques
• Understanding of language model pre-training and domain adaptation

Nice to Have

• Experience with multilingual NLP and cross-lingual transfer
• Knowledge of knowledge graph construction from text
• Background in computational linguistics or formal semantics
