The Durham District School Board acknowledges that many Indigenous Nations have longstanding relationships, both historic and modern, with the territories upon which our school board and schools are located. Today, this area is home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island. We acknowledge that the Durham Region forms a part of the traditional and treaty territory of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, the Mississauga Peoples and the treaty territory of the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation. It is on these ancestral and treaty lands that we teach, live and learn.

Qualifications and additional information:

• Required subject qualifications: Technological Design, Grades 9 and 10; Technological Design, Grades 11 and 12
• FTE: 1.0
• Grade(s)/assignment: 9-12
• Tentative course codes (if known):
• Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing
• Secondary Permanent Salary Range: $57,986 to $119,967/year (Placement on salary grid is based on QECO rating and teaching experience. Salary will be pro-rated based on the position FTE).

1. First Consideration: Teachers covered by the OSSTF Permanent Teachers' Collective Agreement (1.0., 0.5, Article 10 teachers) who possess the required qualifications.(For clarity, an Article 10 teacher is a day school teacher at Durham Continuing Education who has signed a contract with the Board They are considered Article 10 for the school year.)
2. Second Consideration: Candidates from outside of the OSSTF permanent bargaining unit.

To assist in the preparation of applicants who will be offered an interview, candidates are asked to prepare a 15-minute response (format of your choice) that will outline the following for your specific subject area:

What does your ideal classroom look like? With evidence, describe the conditions you will establish in terms of:

1. Fostering a sense of belonging
2. Instructional strategies
3. Assessment and evaluation

Interviews will be held in-person on Monday, June 29th, 2026.
