About the Opportunity

Staffmax is currently recruiting a Travel Agent on behalf of our client to join their growing team. This is an excellent full-time opportunity for a recent college or university graduate, an entry-level travel professional, or someone looking to build a long-term career within the travel industry.

The successful candidate will be customer-focused, highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. Training and mentorship will be provided , including exposure to Travelport+, Galileo, and other Global Distribution Systems (GDS).

Key Responsibilities

• Book and manage travel arrangements, including flights, hotels, car rentals, rail, bus transportation, and cruises.
• Provide professional, friendly, and reliable service to both corporate and leisure travel clients.
• Learn and effectively utilize Travelport+, Galileo, and other GDS platforms.
• Review tickets, travel documents, dates, itineraries, and special requests to ensure accuracy.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, suppliers, and internal team members.
• Assist clients with travel-related questions, changes, and booking requirements.
• Manage multiple bookings and priorities within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Maintain accurate client and booking information.
• Collaborate with team members to provide a seamless customer experience.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Travel & Tourism, Business, Hospitality , or a related field, or equivalent training/coursework.
• Strong interest in the travel industry and willingness to learn GDS systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Basic knowledge of Canadian geography or willingness to learn.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively under deadlines.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Nice to Have

The following are considered assets but are not required :

• Previous exposure to a GDS such as Travelport, Galileo, Sabre, or similar.
• Travel agency, airline, hospitality, or customer service experience.
• Knowledge of remote or northern Canadian community travel.
• Group, corporate, or conference booking experience.
• French-language skills.
