As an Integrated Guarding Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring live video feeds while based within our Operations Centre in Burnaby. The role requires quick decision-making and the ability to handle alarm events and incidents efficiently while maintaining professionalism. You should be comfortable working independently, and be confident and assertive to use verbal communication over a two-way radio to deter active crime.   

Location: This role is fully office-based in our Operations Centre in Burnaby.   

Shifts: We currently have two postings open for this position—one Part-Time and one Full-Time.

For the Part-Time Operator , we are looking for someone available Friday and Saturday nights , with the possibility of picking up additional shifts.

For the Full-Time Operator , the required availability is:

• Friday: 0800–1600 hrs
• Saturday: 0800–1600 hrs
• Sunday: 1600–2359 hrs
• Monday: 1600–2359 hrs

Pay Rate: $25.00/hour   

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of one (1) year of work experience as a Security Officer and/or in a monitoring dispatch environment
• Excellent situational awareness, judgement, and decision-making under pressure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working independently in an Operations Centre environment
• Comfortable with using security monitoring platforms and technology
• Experience with Immix GF is considered an asset
• Ability to notice and act on small details that could be crucial in preventing security breaches

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Monitor live video feeds, alarms, and cameras across multiple client sites
• Identify and assess security-related incidents in real time; follow intervention and escalation protocols
• Utilize the "talkdown" system to communicate and deescalate the potentially threatening situations, maintaining confidence and authority
• Act quickly and decisively when handling alarm events, taking appropriate action and close the events with right outcomes
• Follow the set instructions for each site and ensure compliance with standard procedures
• Log activities, mobile dispatches, and documents for all events; accurately document incidents, alarms and actions taken on reports for management and clients
• Communicate with emergency responders and/or clients during critical events
• Ensure that all necessary information is passed on to the next Operator or shift in a clear, concise, and accurate manner
• Perform other duties as required to meet operational needs
