Daycare Cook and Cleaner

Job Responsibility:
Cook for a daycare of 70 children per day, must be able to prepare and serve healthy snacks and lunches. Able to follow proper food handling procedures and prepare menus using the Canada Food Guide and Public Health Unit Guidelines. Must be able to multi task and prepare menus daily on a timely basis.
Must be able to maintain a clean and sanitary work area at all times and have knowledge of record keeping and inventory keeping for kitchen and food supplies. Will need to be able to clean appliances, and floors.
Will need to be able to order, purchase and follow a food budget as provided by the daycare centre.
Must be reliable, have good communication skills with parents, children and staff.
Education Required
Food Handlers Course
Standard First Aid and CPR
Up to Date Immunizations
RECE (not required but an asset)
Health and Safety Awareness Certificate (can complete on line)
Experience with cooking for large groups, child friendly and many allergies
