Design responsive shooter mechanics, traversal, and camera controls for Velan Studios’ forthcoming third-person concept in Troy or Toronto.As an experienced Combat Designer, you will guide critical pre-production decisions and carry compelling combat implementation through development. The work emphasizes player traversal, intuitive controls, scripting, and collaboration across disciplines.Key Responsibilities:
Develop compelling combat designs for playable charactersCreate traversal sets supporting player movementShape enemy, ally, and boss combat behaviorsPartner with VFX artists and animatorsWork with engineering to implement key systemsRequirements:
Five or more years designing gamesShipped combat design experience in action or shootersExperience leading a small development subteamGeneral scripting proficiencyStrong cross-disciplinary communication abilitiesApply shooter combat, traversal, camera-control, and scripting expertise to an ambitious Velan Studios game concept.
