Payroll Administrator

Full-time, Temporary

Position Title: Payroll Administrator

Regent Christian Academy Society serves children and families across our campus schools, online school, and early learning programs. Reports to:  Director of Finance (or designate)

Overview: As part of a faith-based organization, we value integrity, stewardship, and service in our financial operations. This role contributes to our mission by supporting financial transparency across our ministries. The main responsibility is to ensure that all salaried and hourly employees are paid accurately and on time on a semi-monthly and bi-weekly basis. Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

·          A solid understanding of payroll and accounting software

·          Assembling reports for taxes, deductions, leave, disability payments and non-taxable wages

·          Maintaining confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards

·          Working with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure benefits and payroll services are delivered

·          Monitoring and analyzing expenses against the payroll budget to help prepare cost forecasts and budgets

·          Prepare payments to CRA for CPP, EI and Income Tax

·          Prepare and submit ROE’s

·          Ensure the payroll database is updated for group insurance, WCB and extended health

·          Year End reconciliation of PIER and T4’s

·          Ensuring databases are set up and reflect the current employee base, including salaries, hourly wages, benefits and pension percentages.

·          Comply with Federal, Provincial and Company policies, procedures and regulations

·          Document all procedures for payroll and benefits

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary – 18-month fixed-term contract (maternity leave coverage)

Compensation & Benefits:

·          Pay: $55,000–$60,000 CAD per year, commensurate with experience

·          Benefits: Extended health and dental coverage; pension plan available upon eligibility

Qualifications & Requirements:

·          3 – 5 years payroll experience in a multi-organizational setting

·          A degree would be beneficial in Accounting, Finance or related field

·          Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)

·          Proficient in accounting software (Sage Intacct ) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel

·          Strong attention to detail and accuracy

·          Excellent oral and written communication skills
