Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist

What You’ll Do:

The Purchasing and Supply Chain Specialist will support the efficient operation of our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for purchasing production and maintenance supplies, coordinating production schedules, managing supplier relationships, assisting with new product quotations, and supporting a variety of operational initiatives.

In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring materials, resources, and suppliers are aligned to meet production and business objectives.

Driving Responsibilities:

Purchasing & Supply Chain Management

• Source and procure production materials, maintenance parts, and operational supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and delivery expectations with suppliers.
• Issue and manage purchase orders and ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
• Analyze purchasing data sales forecasts to identify opportunities for cost reduction and inventory optimization.

Production Scheduling

• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and inventory teams to ensure material availability.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as required to address changing priorities.

Supplier Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Evaluate supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost.
• Resolve supply issues and implement corrective actions when required.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers to support business growth and risk mitigation.

Quoting & Operational Support

• Assist in preparing quotations for new products and customer projects.
• Gather supplier pricing and lead-time information to support accurate cost estimates.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams during the quoting process.

General Operations

• Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and supplier records.
• Prepare reports and analyze operational metrics.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and purchasing procedures.
• Assist with other operational and administrative duties as required.

What You Bring:

• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a
• related field.
• 3+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, production planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, procurement practices, and production scheduling.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Epicor/Kinetic.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and relationship management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional designation such as; APICS or SCMP or progress toward certification.
• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of manufacturing costing and quotation processes.
