Nanny Wanted - Single Mom Of 2 Autistic Kids (9 And 7yo) In Search For A Helper And Caregiver

I am looking for one full time, or two part time helpers and caregivers to help care for my two wonderful kids, both of whom are on the Autism spectrum (Level 1 and Level 3). We're seeking kind, patient, and reliable individuals with actual and demonstrable experience in special needs care. PLEASE READ THE LOCATION OF THE JOB. WE ARE NOT IN VANCOUVER MAINLAND. Position 1: Morning Nanny Hours: 8AM - 10.30/11AM (Monday to Friday) Location: Mill Bay, Vancouver Island Duties:

• Help with kids getting ready for school, including preparing their backpacks, brushing hair and assisting, if necessary, with brushing teeth and tying shoe laces.
• Engaging in sensory-friendly activities, if time permits (before I take them to school)
• Clean kitchen countertops, take out garbage, refresh the grocery list if necessary, clean dining room
• Vacuum floor, put dishwasher, and do laundry if needed.
• Light meal prep for the afternoon snack.
• Tidy up their bedroom (tidying up bed, organizing toys and vacuuming everyday). Change their linens once every week.
• Things such as Mopping floors in common living areas should be done once every second day.
• Replenish diaper bag if needed.
• Sanitize high touch areas once every second day (light switches, door handles, etc).
• Work on preparing visuals, signs or whatever is needed to make the house more neurodivergent friendly.

Position 2: Afternoon Nanny Hours: 3PM - 6.30/7PM (Monday to Thursday/Friday) Location: Mill Bay, Vancouver Island Duties:

• After School support, including checking what has to be done, emptying their backpacks and replace whatever is missing in them.
• Prepare lunchbox for school next day, and change of clothes for the next day.
• Help with shower time if necessary (youngest needs assistance)
• Prepare dinner, if needed.
• If kids are in therapy, fold laundry, or organize whatever had to be organized or cleaned in the house then.
• Organize an activity that has no involvement of any sort of screen, whether is taking them to the park, or just moving their body around.
• Leave the kitchen (including kitchen island and countertops free) and common living spaces clean before leaving.

REQUIREMENTS:

• References are A MUST.
• DEMONSTRABLE EXPERIENCE with kids on the spectrum, whether that is professional or personal.
• Strong communication skills
• Proactive, willing to learn and work.
• Has Visa to work in Canada, if required.
• Spanish speakers are a plus. But not exclusive.
• Drivers License is required. Own transportation would be a plus.

SALARY: starting at $22, based on experience. Reviewed after 30 days of starting.
