We're looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Developer (AWS) to join our cross-functional team in Bedford, Nova Scotia. In this role you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining processes designed to best leverage cloud resources used in REDspace's development lifecycle.

What you'll do.

• Build reliable, performant and scalable infrastructure
• Work with a learning mindset, have empathy, strong communication skills and deep respect for the power of collaboration
• Drive clear next steps when encountering ambiguous spaces without clear lines of ownership, turning open-ended problems into effective solutions
• High standards for code quality and a constructive attitude to help others raise the bar
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related production issues in cloud environments
• Collaborate daily with other teams, customers, partners, and stakeholders on the solutions you're working on
• Ability to represent the business professionally when speaking with clients and partners
• Perform helpful and meaningful code reviews to aide in other developers growth
• Mentor other developers on best practices, code quality, design patterns, and other relevant technical skills

Must haves.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on cloud engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with AWS Athena, Lambda and Step-functions, API Gateway, ECS, EKS, Fargate, Kubernetes, S3, EC2, SQS, RDS, CloudFront, and VPC
• Proficient in Terraform
• Demonstrated proficiency with at least one modern general-purpose programming language like Node.js, Java, Go, Python.
• Experience with centralized logging and general monitoring systems such as Newrelic, Grafana, Prometheus, etc.
• Hands-on working experience with CI/CD pipelines, AWS CodePipeline, Github Actions, or Jenkins.
• Able to demonstrate proficiency in cloud cost optimization and right-sizing architectures.
• Demonstrated experience with event-driven architecture.

Nice to haves.

• Certified as an AWS Solutions Architect at either Associate or Professional level
• Hashicorp certification in Terraform
• Experience in alternative IaC solutions such as Amazon CDK, Helm, etc.
• Kubernetes certification (CKAD)
• Experience building RESTful services
• Previous experience building in microservice and SOA based architectures
