Grain Trader

We are searching for Grain Trader. This position will be based in Regina Saskatchewan. Purchaser will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the relationships of existing and new key accounts with growers and brokers. Trader will be accountable for Profit and Loss as per contract. Trader must understand Agricultural sector and global trade needs to create value added solutions for buyers.

Responsibilities:

Weekly Purchasing projects
Establish and implement purchasing strategies based on market needs
Establish, build, and maintain relationships with all key farmers, brokers and grain dealers/suppliers
Negotiate pricing, contracts, quality expectations and shipping period
Review and resolve any discrepancies with invoices, grievances, claims, conflicts, product non-conformance or quality issues
Provide projections to Leadership Team and key buyers to ensure product availability on a timely basis

Experience/Qualifications:

5+ years leading in grain purchasing.
Demonstrated supervisory experience spanning multiple provinces, sites and projects
Experience and ability to develop key accounts and negotiate/communicate effectively with farmers
Experienced with CP or CN Rail, CGC rules, EDC policies and CGC grading tables.
Experience in Agricultural Commodities trading.
Business financial management acumen (ability to understand the cost drivers for each commodity/process and identify solutions.
Ability to understand position and inventory control
Strong working knowledge with Microsoft Cloud, Microsoft Apps, KPI and ERP software required
Amazing communications and relationship building skills along with the aptitude to influence, share valuable information and assist growers in making educated decisions
