REMEDIAL EDUCATION CONSULTANT: DIGITAL COMPETENCIES AND INCLUSIVE TECHNOLOGY (100%) REGULAR

This regular full-time position will be available as of July 1, 2026 at Riverside School Board, located at 7525 chemin de Chambly in St. Hubert. The successful candidate will be a member of the Complementary Services team (60%) and the Educational Services Team (40%) and will be under the responsibility of the Director of Complementary Services.

NATURE OF THE TASK
This position encompasses, in particular, responsibility for providing advice and support to staff of educational institutions and services in the implementation, development and evaluation of programs of study, class management and instructional materials.

The role places particular emphasis on supporting students with diverse learning needs through the effective integration of assistive technology, as well as on supporting teachers in the implementation of the Digital Competency Framework across all Quebec Education Program (QEP) subjects.

The consultant plays a dual role:

• Supporting student success through screening, intervention, and the implementation of inclusive and assistive technology-based strategies
• Supporting teacher capacity through training, coaching, and the integration of digital competencies using an inclusive, accessibility-first approach

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASK
The consultant contributes to the development, implementation and evaluation of educational and special projects in schools, in compliance with school board and program requirements, while ensuring inclusive and coordinated practices.

STUDENT SUPPORT AND INCLUSIVE PRACTICES

• Helps design and implement targeted interventions and strategies, including those leveraging assistive technology, to support diverse learners
• Supports teachers in adapting instruction, materials, and evaluation to meet the needs of students who require assistive technology.
• Monitors and analyzes student progress and contributes to reporting and recommendations

ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION

• Acts as a key resource in the selection, implementation, and effective use of assistive technology to support access, engagement, and success for students
• Guides staff in choosing appropriate digital and assistive tools based on student profiles and learning needs
• Promotes universal design for learning (UDL) and inclusive technology practices across classrooms
• Collaborates with complementary services, school teams, and external partners to ensure coherent and effective implementation

SUPPORT FOR TEACHERS AND STAFF

• Provides ongoing guidance, coaching, and professional learning to teachers and staff, individually and in groups
• Designs and delivers training on:
  • Assistive technology tools and strategies
  • Inclusive pedagogical practices
  • Integration of digital competencies through accessible design
• Works with teachers to develop, adapt, and evaluate learning and assessment tools, ensuring accessibility and alignment with the QEP
• Advises school teams on classroom strategies, intervention approaches, and differentiation practices

DIGITAL COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT

• Collaborates with educational consultants to support the implementation of the Digital Competency Framework, ensuring it is integrated through an inclusive and accessibility-focused lens
• Supports the development of students’ digital skills while ensuring equitable access for all learners
• Promotes the use of digital tools to enhance critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and inclusion

COLLABORATION AND CONSULTATION

• Works closely with multidisciplinary teams, school administrators, teachers, and parents
• Advises management on professional development priorities, resources, and implementation strategies
• Recommends instructional materials, equipment, and software, particularly related to assistive and digital technologies
• Contributes to a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion across the organization

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialty, namely education, special education, or remedial education;
• A minimum of five years experience in a relevant field

FURTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven knowledge of the Quebec Education Program;
• Knowledge of technology and of its integration for pedagogical purposes;
• Excellent skills in both oral and written French and English;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively, as a member of a pedagogical team;

SCHEDULE: to be determined, 35 hours per week.

ANNUAL SALARY: In accordance with the Professionals’ Agreement, the salary ranges from $56,670 to $100,410 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
