Gilead Sciences Canada seeks an Associate Director of Public Affairs to lead integrated communications and stakeholder engagement across Canada, with focus on oncology. The role reports to the Head of Public Affairs and drives public affairs strategy, media relations, and patient advocacy while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and delivery of integrated public affairs programs across oncology and cell therapy
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with patient organizations, advocacy groups, and healthcare stakeholders
- Lead proactive and reactive media engagement and manage communications materials
- Drive alignment across medical, market access, commercial, and government affairs teams
- Support engagement with federal and provincial stakeholders on healthcare and access priorities
Requirements
- 8+ years in public affairs, communications, or government relations in pharma or healthcare
- Experience in oncology or strong knowledge of Canadian oncology landscape
- Demonstrated expertise in media relations and issues management
- Experience developing and executing integrated, multi-channel communications campaigns
- Strong understanding of Canadian healthcare, policy, and access environment
- Ability to translate complex scientific and policy information into clear narratives
- Project management skills for multiple priorities, budgets, and timelines
