Are you organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a fast-paced warehouse or inventory environment? Join our team as a temporary, full-time Storesperson , where you'll play a key role in ensuring materials, equipment, and supplies are received, stored, tracked, and distributed efficiently to support City operations. In this hands-on role, you'll receive and inspect deliveries, issue inventory, perform cycle counts, maintain accurate inventory records, and safely operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. You'll also help organize warehouse storage, identify obsolete or low-stock items, and assist with the safe handling and transportation of materials, including dangerous goods. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent customer service, and the ability to work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Completion of senior secondary school or its equivalent.
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence - Class 5.
- Minimum one year’s relevant experience in a computerized stores environment within the past five years.
- Completion of a minimum of two courses within SCMA - Supply Management Training;
- OR
- Completion of a Level I Parts Technician program recognized by Skill Trades BC.
- Proficient in basic Word and basic Excel as demonstrated through testing. (70% pass rate required)
This is a unionized position with CUPE Local 900; check out our Collective Agreement (2024 - 2025) for full details (ratified 2026 Collective Agreement coming soon). As this is a unionized position, all qualifications must be met in order to be shortlisted for the position.
$35.919 Hours & Days of Work
Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Hours per Week
