The Opportunity We are currently seeking an Electrical Draftsperson to join our Central Engineering team in Sudbury. This is a permanent position covered under the Collective Agreement between Vale and the Local 2020-05 United Steelworkers. As an Electrical Draftsperson you will provide complete drafting services for the design engineering team according to the Vale standards and safe operating procedures. Additionally, in this position you will:

• Drafting – creating, revising, archiving, and checking drawings under direct supervision of the engineer, site visits, field measuring, knowledge of codes and familiar with Vale standards.
• Safety protocols – attending process hazard awareness reviews, attending and participating in safety meetings, using safety tracking software, performing and documenting safety audits.
• Task organization – Organizes the execution of the task relative to other tasks and job functions. Documents all relevant information pertaining to the task using project software, databases, etc.

About You Education:

• Graduate technologist in electrical or instrumentation.

Experience:

• The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year's drafting experience.

Skills:

• Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Electrical/Instrumentation
• drawing symbols, Knowledge of Vale drafting procedures, Knowledge of Mining Regulations.
• Experience using Microstation, AutoCAD is acceptable, SAP.
• Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
