Wood is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Designer to join our Canada Projects business delivering some of the world's boldest and most critical projects. This opportunity is Hybrid.

The Role

Wood is seeking an experienced Intermediate Electrical Designer in Calgary and or Edmonton, AB to join our busy and growing Oil & Gas Canada team due to growth in our business! Please note this role will work our standard hybrid office work schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and draft equipment and auxiliary components in 2D and 3D drawing environments
• Provide design and technical support for the layout, design and specification of electrical systems for industrial plants and related infrastructure
• Review project documents for scope, presentation and technical accuracy
• To carry out duties and responsibilities as assigned by the lead electrical engineer or lead electrical designer
• Thorough knowledge of discipline engineering techniques, the design of engineered systems, engineering and design calculations.
• Quality control of all deliverables within the scope of electrical engineering
• Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures
• Prepare electrical single line diagrams, wiring diagrams and schematics, Load list, Equipment list, Cable schedules and all other Electrical deliverables assigned by lead.
• Prepare electrical layouts such as lighting, cable tray, grounding. Prepare panel schedules and block diagrams.
• Prepare as built drawings based on site red lines

Expected:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Design Technology or similar.
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience required
• Electrical design experience
• Ability to work in a team environment, as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be familiar with electrical safety and code compliance requirements.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Smart Plant Electrical, PDMS, Auto Plant, E3D
