Head Cashier

Reporting to the Grocery Manager, the Head Cashier is responsible for providing leadership to all front-end employees, delivering world-class customer service, operating cash registers, and taking payment from customers. Responsibilities also include assisting with merchandising and displaying packaged products and maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications : Candidate must have 3-5 years of experience in a retail environment and possess a minimum of 1 year of previous supervisory experience. Applicants must demonstrate effective leadership skills and the ability to work well within multi-generational teams. Candidates should be self-reliant, goal-oriented and have the ability to learn new skills quickly and to set and adjust priorities and schedules.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge POS systems, cashier procedures, duties related to customer transactions, cash handling, and service desk
• Prepare work schedules within an Advanced Scheduling System
• Tech Savvy, with the ability to adapt to new technology
• Attention to detail
• High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
• Superior mentoring skills and a demonstrated ability to foster engagement, challenge and stretch Team Members in meaningful ways, and support in building a strong, agile team
• Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on employee engagement
• High level of integrity and work ethic

Availability: Full availability, days required, evenings required and weekends required.
