Job Responsibility:
Bittersweet Symphony is seeking a talented and dedicated Baker/Cake Decorator to join our team. Our bakery/patisserie specializes in high-volume production and requires someone who can maintain the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Cake Decoration: Layer cakes with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring consistent and high-quality cake fillings.
- Production: Prepare a variety of fillings and toppings, including ganache, lemon curd, white chocolate ganache, and custard.
- Baking: Bake cakes, brownies, and other pastries to meet daily production needs.
- Hygiene: Follow proper hygiene practices to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with the Head Pastry Chef and follow their directions and commands.
- Stock Management: Ensure pastry cabinets are fully stocked before the store opens to the public.
- Communication: Must be able to speak and understand English to communicate effectively with the team.
Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience as a baker or cake decorator in a high-volume bakery or patisserie.
- Skills: Strong baking and cake decorating skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with the production of various cake fillings and toppings.
- Hygiene: Knowledge of and adherence to proper hygiene practices.
- Language: Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
- Team Player: Ability to work well under the direction of the Head Pastry Chef and as part of a team.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$19.89 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
